Ok ..and on top of that normal routine..laundry, basuh botol and so on...(now basuh baju anak2 mcm dh jd love hate relationship plak...teringat masa mula2 basuh baby , rasa mcm xsbar je nk suh baby keluar...skrg ibu dh letih basuh, lipat, basuh, lipat..xde mesin ke?nk amik bibik xmampu)

Tips for mum to be : Preparing for ur baby arrival

This entry might be long, but really hope a worth reading

Disclaimer : Entry written here based on personal experience and observation, since I do not have siblings yg dh ada anak...dgr citer kawan2 pernah la..tapi kdg masa dgr to tak amik serius pun

Being first time mother and father, I believe when preparing for ur little one can be very confusing, not sure, so on..not to mentioned super excited

Nowadays baby items have so many options (not to mentionedit can cost a bomb for a baby weight 2-4kg!)..Itu belum masuk nk amik insurance, saving, jab cost, nursery, so on...Ada plak nanti xmo anak sbb takut tak cukup pulus *anak tu rezeki...Insya Allah*

So, when it comes to baby checklist..each parents have their own version...some I saw almost buying every single things..*hatta mainan umur 6 bulan pun beli*..some goes for moderation, some even get sponsored *pergh untung giler kena sponsored lg dpt Peg Prego, Quinny, so on*, some dapat brg2 inherited *2nd hand pun ok per?*

For us I think we opt for moderation..bought the basic things and slowly top up when necessary.

Later on , I will share baby and mom checklist *I consider it as complete..but all actually depends on ur needs and wants*


1. Before start I think we need to understand life of a baby esp early weeks of his/ her life. Basically newborn ni sleep, feeding, and also poo-pee.

Sleeping pattern baby ni akan berubah slowly and of course lain baby lain ragamnya. But normally baby needs to be feed every 2-3 hours (esp if jaundice). So contohnya baby menyusu pukul 10 pagi, pukul 12 tghari will be next feeding. Bf baby might be takes longer time...nyusu+ngempeng=kdg2 almost sejam! So in between pukul 11 ke 12 tghari tu, time tu ibu2 boleh rehat/ join tdo sekali. But, not all baby senang2 lps susu boleh tdo..ada yg kadang melalak2 lagi, ada yg colic so on..so welcome to kelab-tak-cukup-tdo!

Feeding pattern baby like mentioned earlier, baby will be feed around 8-12 times a day..so malam2 pun kena bgn jugak *bonus for those bf baby smbil lying down...boleh smbil2 tdo..tapi kena jaga2 jugak ye*

Since the frequency feeding is high, same goes to hasilnya...you might be suprised that baby will poo 8-12 times in a day *or even more*. This usually will last until 1 months plus...lps habis pantang ur baby will adjust accordingly...ada yg jenis berak kerap, ada yg xberak2 few days *baby yg bf klu tak berak few days massih dikira normal, since breastmilk ni mudah hadam*..sbb itulah org kata klu baby jenis kulit xsensitif blhla try pakai pampers yg murah2

do the math..cthnya sekeping pampers dah few cents..times plak 12 kali tukar times plak sebulan.. 0.45x 12 x 30 days : 100+

2. During confinement, most likely u will stay at home. Kalau keluar pun ke hospital (more frequent if jaundice so on). If not much problem, keluar plg lama pun for the 1st month jab. so klu xbeli stroller awal2 pun xpe

3. As you have some general ideas of ur baby life, then you can plan and prioritised nak beli apa yg penting dulu..of course yg related clothes-feeding-bath&body care-bedding dan tak lupa juga basic items for mummy

4. For first time mother, I would advise to get at least 10 helai baju - 5 helai untuk siang (seluar pendek, lengan pendek), 5 helai lg untuk malam(seluar panjang, lengan panjang..tp pendek pun boleh). Mitten & booties 5 or more..kalau nk beli lebih pun no problem, since pls consider frequency of laundry & weather *kot2la baby lahir time musim hujan..basuh2 baju tak kering..baju sikit tak kan baby nk bogel?*

For 2nd time mother, bolehla save tang baju..but pls buy new mitten &booties. Reasons? logiknya both akan agak longgar (anak 2st kan membesar)..so kesian

kat anak no 2 asik tercabut mitten & booties yg dh longgar

5. Rompers are cute, but for first time mother pls buy clothes with button for ur baby. Sbbnya senang sikit nk pakaikan baju kat baby..*sudahlah 1st time usually terkial2..lg nk sarung baju dr atas kepala*. if you really want rompers then try look something mcm gmbr bwh ni. Once dh tak kekok blhla pakai baju xde butang kat baby yer..

6. I would recommend to get barut yg buat sendiri *tak reti buat beli je online*, bukan yg beli kat pasaraya..sbbnya I noticed the size mcm kecik.

7. Since you dont know ur baby skin sensitive or not, pls get small size toiletries

8. Nowadays if you dont want to use disposable diapers, you can go for modern cloth diaper (CD)...boleh jugak guna kain lampin yg mcm dulu..pendek kata ikut mudah masing2 *pantang sdiri/ parents jaga so on...klu ada org tolong2 laundry maybe blhla try modern CD*

9. Mummies pls dont overbuy maternity pad..sbbnya xselesa nk pakai pad yg besar..so sila beli variety..maternity pad, pad (time heavy, normal, light), and panty liner..klu rasa xsure flow darah cmner *since ada yg kering cpt ada yg kering lambat* beli agak2la..at least bila dh nk abes blh mintak husband/ family member belikan..klu diorg xtau blhla korg bg plastic cover pad tuh - erm org lelaki mana tau beza tebal nipis, yg dia tau pad.

klu nk save beli pad/ panty liner giant/ tesco...*tpkan panty liner giant mcm xbest, but pad yg biasa2 - flow dh sikit itu ok...again personal opinion*

10. strelizer & warmer - not a must, tapi klu rasa renyah nk guna cara tradisional blhla opt untk beli item ni...beli brg time pantang dh senang..online je

11. breastpump - klu rasa nk pakai BP cnaggih tapi xmampu bayar sekaligus blhla cari kutu..taip je kat google "kutu freestyle" mcm2 kuar..jgn segan2 tnya kat seller, sbb yg jual ni pun mostly sokong bf..so blhla mintak nasihat jugak..

12. dlm sibuk brg baby, barg ibu jgn lupa sediakan at least kain putih 1m untk tanam uri- klu ikut xkisahlah pakai kain pe..tp nk selamat dr shawl/ kain kat rumah dr kena rembat..sediakanlah kain ni..klu rasa nk canggih boleh gak beli set pengurusan uri (2 brg dlm set ni ada kat dapur anda garam & asam jawa - ni gunanya nk hilangkan hanyir& bau uri tu). jgn risau husband anda akan pandai cari/ beli cangkul untk tanam uri (klu baik hati blhla belikan cangkul dulu)

OK that all for time being..actually this entry tersadai dr 24.06.11..so I just add sikit2 and postla mana2 yg blh share..at least sikit sebanyak harapnya dpt membantu bakal2 ibu...

No update doesn't mean no story...

No update means I am soo busy....

Recently just move to new office location...and to be truthful I felt like to send resignation letter..All because my traveling time changed..jadi lg lama = lg letih

This morning even worst, I left my umbrella, plus xde satu pun payung dlm kereta husband..so gamble2 jelah naik erl dan LRT

Elok2 smpi LRT dan dh jalan kaki keluar dr Avenue K, br la nmpk hujan..bkn renyai2 yg boleh redah..patah balik pegi Guardian KLCC beli payung..pstu jalan la ke opis (smpi opis dh rasa mcm xde mood keje)

The only good thing, food price are cheaper...Nasi, ayam, sayur br RM4.50..last time foodcourt Menara Maybank paling cikai RM5.

The rest I hate the building design..surau kat basement 2..zuhur okla turun sorg, asar hoho takut la jugak. Bilik air xbest, currently pump susu dlm stor files (tggu HR kata nk convert discussion room 2 in 1 - nursing dan jugak discussion room..okla ada gak dr xde lgpun myself sorg2 je yg pump..nk tggu geng lg 3 bulan br ada)

The rest ntah cm xbest sbb penat...penat xilang2, I wish I can resign today, pstu sblm masuk keje baru amik masa 2 weeks untk clearkan karam di rumah..those filing jobs, baju2 lama nk susun so on, tu x masuk nk start kemas2 info tuk income tax filing..

Oh ya..I should give a pat to myself sbb last week almost 90% masak! pagi2 buta masak untk makan lps balik keje..xtapau bawak g keje sbb nk familiarkan diri ngan tempat makan opis baru - klu kena tapau sorg2 xle sesat. Menu last week

Ahad - Ikan cencaru bakar. masak lemak labu, sambal ikan bilis

Isnin - Ayam padprik, telur dadar

Selasa - Sotong kicap, bendi berlada

Rabu - Ikan bakar, kacang buncis (husband kata menu sihat lg plak lupa buh garam dlm kacang buncis sbb pagi tu Alif ngempeng jek..myself dh nk pengsan pagi dgn kelam kabut)

Khamis - nasi goreng, ayam goreng

Jumaat - nasi lemak, sambal udang

Ahad - bihun goreng (breakfast , makan mlm..tghari keluar)

Stok untk Alif (2 weeks) - 4P - peas, prune, peach, pumpkin....haha dh masak2 br perasan sume p items

Overall :

1. bolehla try next time..masa beli brg mentah xde pun buat menu plan, lps dh balik br conteng2 menu plan. next time maybe buat menu plan dl br beli brg. oh ya masak smpi Jumaat sbb lps tu beras habis.

2. lg 1 husband kata xkick nasi lemak makan ngan sambal udang..so next time nasi lemak mesti partner ngan sambal bilis.

3. since sabtu pagi otomatic anak2 bgn awal (budak2 ni mmg cmtu ye..hari kerja bgn pun nk kena kejut..hari cuti otomatik xpayah kejut..bgn awal2 pg plak tu), tp ibunya plak malas nk bgn awal..nk golek2 je maka hari jumaat xde masak pagi2, instead masak lepas balik kerja. menunya plak sesuai makan tuk breakfast pagi sabtu...so menu yg so far ok nasi lemak, nasi/mee/kueteow/bihun goreng..so pagi2 sabtu panaskan je balik dan buat air milo/ teh/ kopi

4. tips dr group solid food - rebus labu / keledek (benda2 berangin) ngan halia tua..nk blend xpayah la masuk halia tu..Insya Allah xde la perut meragam nk terkentut je. so sila jgn takut bagi baby makan labu/ keledek

Bab masak ni mmg bnyk kena bljr lg..but I will try to put some note here..so at least esok2 nanti blhla belek2 balik..amik mana yg blh menyenangkan , memudahkan kerja2 dapur

Bab paling fail : kemas brg2 dapur..basuh no hal..tp bab nk susun balik alahai..so end up kdg2 sudu pun xjumpa

Okla till then

Bkn pe kami xpernah pun baju raya tailor made.sume ready made - dah nama ready made pasrah ajelah dgn apa yg ada.den plak paling masalah tang kain ..dh nama peha drumstick, maka kenalah mula2 amik kira tang tu. kain mmg belum beli lg, tapi klu dh tahu due date, nanti cpt2la kami ke nilai 3 (adeh kena pk theme kaler plak...sob sob kena fikir lg)

2. photobook nyer kertas kan ada mcm2 jenis kan?

agak2 klu amik groupon nyer offer "Printed on 128 matte art paper." ok ke? bkn pe takut nipis sgtla, cepat koyakla

ada baca org komen cmni - if the paper grammage is 180gsm and above than I will buy. 125gsm is so thin like holding a photocopy paper, art paper is never a good material for printing photo in my opinion. if it's a glossy photo paper than it's something worth considering.

so cmner ye? ingat nk buat photobook Afham 1st year ngan family photobook (ok afham nk masuk 2 taun tp ibu xbuat2 jugak photobook)

Credit card charge extra for my Groupon purchase

All those online voucher can drive us crazy..with so much bargain and its so easy peasy purchase right? Milkadeal, Groupon, Ilovediscount and so on..

Recently I made 2 purchase from Groupon and notice that the credit card statement showed diff figure (ha itu pun tersedar sbb nk gi anto claim form...nk claim kat company for the ACCA fee, klu tak sebab tu maybe lah xsedar extra charges kan...)

So just trying my luck gogel lah ~ hah lps tu gogel terus ke FAQ Groupon http://www.groupon.my/faq (br terkedek2 nk baca FAQ..pdhal dh soping2)

Yes they really replaced the credits in my account (but the credit have expiry date – 1 year..oklah kan?). I know the amount might not significant, but it is our right as customer.

Proposal : Celebrating 3 years of anniversary

Dear husband,

Less than 2 months we will celebrate our 3rd anniversary. So I’m thinking to have a celebration for this year.

We do not celebrate 1st year as we just get our lil Afham, 2nd year plak I’m in pregnancy mood.

So I just think this is the perfect year to celebrate, at least we have some moments to be remembered later. I knew I'm not good in giving surprise so on, so I hope you don’t mind with this arrangement (nak wat cmner...terigin nk bg suprise tp klu beli barang naik kereta sure la gak nmpk barang...)

At first I thought to have just two of us having our dating time on the anniversary day itself, but after considering that I need to pump my milk at least twice (plus beg susu with all those ice packs...) hmm lecehla plak..so I hope you don’t mind if we celebrate it together with Afham & Alif

Below are the proposal plan:
1. Take a day leave on 14.3.2012 Wednesday
2. Have our family photoshoot @ whiteroom for one hour session
3. Eat, buffet lunch at XYZ
4. Jalan2
5. Balik

I do not disclose further details here, but please read ur email (it’s the same except the email have more details with draft plan (with estimated travelling time))

For 2012 we managed to visit 3 expo, and one of it quite disappointing, while the other two really worth it!

I will update later the expo-stories later (haha org lain update lps event myself update slps berbulan...sorry ye...tangan xcukup.)

1. Boleh turn2 sorg pegang anak, sorg lg jaga..lps tu amik turn masing2

2. Makan serentak - ayah suap Afham, ibu suap diri sendiri. Time Alif newborn blhla ibu makan smbl Alif tdo dlm stroller, skrg Alif xde tdo time keluar. Sudahle suka melompat..maka ibu makan sikit, pstu bg Alif lompat2, smbg makan, bg Alif lompat lagi (huhu letih! hari tu kat Ikea ada auntie yg sgt baik hati offer nk pgg Alif suh ibu makan,tp terpaksa la ibu tolak pelawaan tu sbbnya xmo auntie ni patah tangan dek lompatan Alif). Very soon dua2 suap sorg satu anak

Klinik

1. Dua2 masuk jumpa doc, salah sorg pegang Afham

2. Dr tnya "sorg je ke?". my answer "husband kat luar". Husband jaga Afham kat luar-klu klinik kanak2 sure Afham sibuk nk main bola, etc. Ibu bawa Alif jumpa doktor....agaknya doktor tgk ibu serabut dgn henbeg, kain lampin, muka serabai..

Shopping

1. Blh jalan saing2

2. Ayah bawak Afham fav spot mcm depan tv banyak (lg bagus klu ada cd Boboi Boy), tak pun pegi tgk ikan2 dlm akuarium...ibu g carik barang dgn Alif

Beauty regime

1. Tak de dah..lps tu dpt tau pregnant lg pun sama xde mood melawa

2. Lgla xde.Mandi pun diskaun bnyk..hoho belek muka kat cermin mak ai serabai diri, hari2 yg kelam kabut lg teruk..tangan penuh macam2, tak cukup tangan. Mulut pun selit ape yg boleh...tgk groupon promo spa, alahai bestnya...tapi bila nk click beli fikir berkali2 ntah bila nk peginye.

Laundry

1. Boleh poyo2 basuh seminggu sekali. biasa dua kali seminggu

2. Basuh baju seminggu sekali? boleh pengsan wo time sidai.basuh dua kali seminggu pun boleh berpinau mata nk sidai.maka skrg basuh at least 3 kali seminggu...blom citer part timbunan baju bersih yg dh mcm gunung kinabalu. masih lg mencari rentak

Of course a lot of thing change, nak tulis satu2 xcukup masa...and both need attention. Anak rapat mmg kena sorg handle sorg satu...since Afham pun blm blh independent lg. Adakala rasa xsabar nk dioarg besar! (haha...lps tu klu nakal2 nk suh diorg jd baby balik..boleh gitu? ape kes?)

Apepun still belajar dan mencari rentak menjadi ibu kepada dua org anak...nanti klu dh tiga org pun still kena belajar dan cari rentak ibu kepada tiga org anak...tak gitu?

Its actually new haircut. As this is 2nd time postpartum hair loss, I could expect it earlier...so of course I have no worries about it, it just something predictable

While thinking and asked permission from husband to get new haircut...he answered me like this "potong mcm Brittani lah..." *yes he knows Brittani, he even knew Kim Kardashian bercerai sdgkan myself br terkedek2 nk tau..*

And when we had our conversation it was almost to the finale. And when the finale aired on TV husband do not watched it since dia kena temankan Afham tdo *that's why above picture bkn dr google tp mmg amik dpn tv..sbb tak sabar nk tnjk gmbr haircut Brittani*

I noticed a lot of new mother worries about postpartum hair loss. My humble advice :-

1. get a new hair cut..keep it short, dh pendek2 maka yg gugur tu takle nmpk banyak sgt sbb rambut tu pendek2

2. ok2 maybe org kata pemalas..but sy sikat rambut bila rasa perlu

3. takde pakai syampu specific, still guna syampu yg sama

4. be patient..its temporary, but if it really serious silala ke Yun-Nam-Hair-Care

5. husband komplen banyak rambut gugur? gelak2 sajalah ye...erk husband komplen smbl tangan laju je kutip2 dan buang rambut (thank u abg!)

Last but not least enjoy the-motherhood-episode-rambut-gugur-merata...this is part and partial of the journey!

Alhamdulillah..6 months

Alif turns 6 months today...and

I should give a pat at my back...6 months mission accomplished, Alhamdulillah.

Now review for next 6 months...semoga dipermudahkanNya

Baby : ready for solid

Bersemangat "makan" toy?

As Alif will hit 6 months, it means this is the second time for me to wake up early morning to prepare his meals..

I remembered last time for Afham, I think I don't really have fancy cooking..just normal foods porridge, vegee puree, fuits puree, and of course with protein group - chicken, beef, eggyolk, tofu. And for pasta, oatmeal, and so on *ape yg pelik* I never tried to him when he started solid, perhaps because of pregnancy hormone - ya I found out that Im preganat while Afham just 7 months (now blame pregnancy hormone for all laziness!! apa da!).

Now with Alif, I consider I have basic knowledge and I really hope that this time I can try to cook even better and perhaps trying more new recipe *crossing my fingers that Alif suka makan homemade food, Insya Allah.*

So hereby I'm sharing checklist for the homemade baby food/ checklist for solid/ checklist cooking for baby dan yg seangkatan dengannya (rasanya tulis ikut flow tau dr penyediaan smpilah nk suapkan makanan)

knife, chopping board - asingla dr yg guna hari2, since yg guna harikan ada potong lada

bekas2 plastik -same reason as above...bekas2 ni guna untk letak sayur/ buah/ ayam/ daging so on yg dipotong..sementara nk masuk dlm steamer/ pots

pots & cooking utensils - same reason as knife, chopping board..asingkanle sbb kot2la senduk2 tu dh kacau lada, kari

slow cooker - some mother said it makes their life easier...masuk sume bahan malam esok paginya dh masak..but I dun really plan to have one (dapur dh penuh mcm2 brg, plus masak nasi pun xsuka pakai rice cooker inikan plak slow cooker)

steamer

blender and/ or food processor - no need to buy fancy, normal blender will do..klu hadiah kawen banyak blh la gunakan? as long as can do pureeing, blending, mashing

small holed strainer or fine mesh strainer: pushing more textured foods through to make a more fine and smooth purée..ops jgn plak pakai penapis teh anda...beli yang baru ye

cookie cutter - ni klu mak2 yg rajin buat biskut untk baby bolehla beli...even blh guna for toddler food preparation *esp yg picky eater..agak2 nmpk comel at least diorg eager sikit nk makan*

ice cream mould - yes baby can have homemade ice cream! later will blog about this ye

ice cube tray with lid/ baby cubes/ storage containers for freezing - freezing food cubes

freezer bags / tupperware - storing the frozen food cubes from the ice tray

label & marker - laber freezer bags / tupperware with food cube type and date prepared and frozen..masking tape pun boleh guna..mcm kita simpan ebm frozen tu

feeding set - mangkuk, sudu, sippy cup so on..

bib - mcm2 jenis ada jual kat pasaran, ada yg kain ada yg plastik, ada yg disposable, ada yg dh rupa mcm baju..senang cakap sediakan ajelah duit

highchair/ bumboo - bagi memudahkan urusan suap-menyuap..

food thermos/ food jar - ni senangkan kerja nursery xpayah panaskan makanan. beside blh guna time outing with baby - like posted here

fresh food feeder - baby can enjoy the fruits/ vege like posted here

My checklist above might be not 100% complete.. you can add on few items that you think that will help you to cook and prepare food fast, easy-peasy...cthnya nk beli food warmer ke, heat sensor spoon ke..its up to you. Banyak brg kat pasaran ni, yg penting ada uwangnya!

Now I am not sure whether to have another baby chair.Currently we have one, bought from Ikea...klu beli lagi mgkn semakkan rumah, tak beli takut "berebut" ngan Afham nak letakkan Alif. Tapi klu beli in future dh xguna leh je jual balik kan? *ade ke yg nk beli?*

So happy cooking mummies...I believe we dont have to become Masterchef to cook for our lil ones :)

Afham oh Alif

While having Afham, I believe he can enjoy all the moments without any interruption

But nowadays its totally different!

Letak Alif kat playgym, xsempat Alif nk buat ape2 - Afham dh request suh bukak sume2 toys yg tergantung

Alif baru nk dimandikan - Afham dtg sibuk2 nk "mandikan" Alif..banyak kali gak dia letak brg/ biskut dlm air mandian Alif

Time susukan Alif - Afham dtg nk duk kat riba, lg teruk dia nk panjat kat belakang

Alif meniarap - Afham nk "kuda2kan" Alif...so nowadays mmg xberani tinggalkan tnpa sape2 (klu nk terkucil pun tahan jugak), takut mood "kuda" Afham dtg

Bila enjut buai Alif - Afham dtg nk tolong enjut siap baca selawat *xle bunyi selawat tp ada bunyi2*

Yes, its difficult to entertain both at the same time!

Bkn husband tak amik/ entertain dia, tp bila dh time2 dia "merap" nk ibu..maka ibu pun kdg2 start jd "angry bird puchong" - mintak maaf ye jiran2 klu anda dgr suara ibu marah/ sound anak...

But I love the moments main ba-ba-cak...cak kat Alif...cak kat Afham...both will smile *melting*

Argh..now I just wish to find new job nearer to house, so that I have more time with them!
